Serbia’s export of agriculture products over the past 11 months brought in a record $1.07 billion worth of trade surplus, according to data recently unveiled by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).
In the aforesaid period, Serbia exported $1.98 billion worth of agri-food products, while the imports totaled $912 million, Beta news agency reported.
Vojislav Stankovic, an assistant-researcher at the PKS, pointed out that in addition to the record surplus, Serbia achieved another record when it comes to the coverage of food product imports by exports, totaling 217.1%.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management announced on Thursday that it fully met all plans for the fourth quarter of 2010 under the National Programme for Integration (NPI) regarding approximation of Serbian laws with EU legal acts.
By-laws in the field of veterinary medicine, food safety, phytosanitary area and water management field were adopted.
The Ministry was responsible for preparing responses to the Questionnaire of the European Commission on Serbia’s candidacy for EU membership.
