At the extended tender aimed at finding a strategic partner for Jat Airways, Baltic Aviation Systems, a co-owner of Air Baltic, has purchased the transaction documents, the Serbian Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy said in a release Monday.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy and the working group in charge of monitoring the realization of these activities are continuing their activities on choosing a strategic partner by delivering the transaction documents to this company, after which the company is expected to make on offer, says the release.
The Ministry noted that the deadline expired Monday for submitting applications in the public call for investors for a joint investment in a new company for public air transport.
In the period from August 1, when the call opened, a number of airlines and companies which cooperate with airlines expressed interest in a strategic partnership with the Republic of Serbia and Jat Airways, said the Ministry.
Two companies applied within the original deadline, but several companies asked that it be pushed back so they would have time to prepare the necessary documentation, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy extended the application period by one month.
At the end of the period, one company purchased the transaction documents, reads the release.
