The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic, announced that the state will continue investing in small airports due to connecting people and further development.
Mihajlovic said in Pakovrac near Cacak that the Kraljevo airport will be developed as the best cargo airport in this part of Europe, that a four-kilometer runway will be built there and that a strategic partner is being considered.
She reminded that Nikola Tesla Airport ended 2019 as the most successful in the region, and that Nis Airport received 440,000 passengers that year.
She announced that investments in Nis airports will be continued through the state company Airports of Serbia.
In 2014, the state strategically decided to develop air traffic, with the idea of helping the development of small airports with the establishment of the Serbian Airport, due to connecting people, and faster development of the economy and tourism, the minister said.
She stated that the airport in Pranjani is being completed and that the airport in Trebinje will be completed by the end of 2021.
I expect that on September 19, all of us in Pranjani will mark an important day for the Serbian and American people, because our relations should be getting better. Based on the agreement between Presidents Vucic and Dodik, we are building airports in Trebinje, and in December next year, that city in Herzegovina will be reached in 40 minutes, said Mihajlovic, Dnevnik reports.
