Serbia’s Trade Minister expects PayPal in 2013

Serbian Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications Minister Rasim Ljajic expects that ‘the year 2012 will be Serbia’s last without PayPal’, the world’s biggest online payment system, local daily 24 Sata reported.

Ljajic said that Serbia has fulfilled all PayPal’s requirements, adding that the ball is now in the company’s court. The daily also wrote that Serbia will be included in the PayPal system ‘in a bundle with several other countries’, adding that Montenegro, FYR Macedonia and Moldova have also fulfilled the requirements, while Georgia is still taking care of certain regulations. In the same report, 24 Sata wrote that the Serbian government is considering lowering the cost of internet services for poor residents and municipalities.
