A1 Telekom Austria Group to invest additional 250-300 million euros in Serbia’s telecommunications infrastructure

A1 Telekom Austria Group has already invested 1.2 billion euros in Serbia and plans to further its commitment with an additional 250 to 300 million euros in the upcoming period, as announced by Alejandro Plater, the company’s General Director, during a meeting with Dejan Ristić, Serbia’s Minister of Information and Telecommunications in a technical mandate.

Both Ristić and Plater highlighted the importance of advancing telecommunications infrastructure as a critical component of digital transformation and economic growth. They expressed their mutual readiness to carry out development projects aimed at providing modern and reliable telecommunication services to Serbia’s citizens and businesses, aligning with the highest international standards.

The visit of A1 Telekom Austria Group’s executive director underscores Serbia’s position as a regional leader in telecommunications, further strengthening the country’s role in the economic sector, particularly in the field of telecommunications, according to a statement from the Government of Serbia.

A1 Telekom Austria Group is part of the Mexican telecommunications giant América Móvil and operates in seven European countries: Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Serbia and Croatia.
