The Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic, stated today that about two million tourists visited Serbia during the current tourist season, while in the best tourist season, 2019, the number of tourists was between 3.5 and 3.7 million.
“We now have more than eight million overnight stays in Serbia, and in the best tourist season (2019) we had 10 million overnight stays,” Matic said.
According to her, Serbia is not a destination where the tourist season is only in summer.
“Serbia, especially big cities – Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, have a highly developed congress tourism, the New Year is coming and the holidays are being celebrated,” said Matic.
She assessed that vaccination against coronavirus is “a necessary condition for the continuation of normal economic life”, as well as the tourism sector, Danas reports.
