The internationally active ALPLA Group is expanding its operations in the compression and injection moulding segment by acquiring the production facility of Serbian closure manufacturer Energoplast. As a comprehensive system provider, ALPLA delivers high-quality plastic packaging solutions, and this acquisition will further strengthen its position in South-East Europe, enhancing flexibility, product diversity, and service quality.
The company is taking over Energoplast’s closure production plant in Belgrade, including its employees, production lines, and ongoing business operations, ensuring a smooth transition. With this move, ALPLA reinforces its role as a key partner for the beverage packaging industry in Serbia and the wider Balkan region, while also meeting growing market demand.
“Energoplast’s high-quality product portfolio perfectly complements our existing business in Serbia and will be further improved through ALPLA’s technological expertise,” said Miroslav Micković, General Manager of ALPLA Serbia. “This acquisition allows us to secure supply for our customers and provide long-term value and strategic advantages.”
The Energoplast facility, covering 2,000 square meters in northern Belgrade, produces PE closures for the beverage industry in Serbia and neighboring countries using compression and injection moulding technology.
With this acquisition, ALPLA now operates four plants in Serbia (two of which are located within customer facilities), two in Croatia, and one in Slovenia, making it one of the largest plastic packaging manufacturers in South-East Europe. The company’s product portfolio includes bottles, closures, and containers for the food, home care, cosmetics, oil, and lubricant industries, as well as PET preforms for beverage packaging.
According to Rainer Widmar, ALPLA Managing Director for Central and Eastern Europe, “This strategic step strengthens ALPLA’s regional presence, promotes local value creation, and enables us to meet increasing demand more efficiently. Both local and international customers benefit from high-quality closure solutions and shorter delivery routes.”
Michael Feltes, Managing Director of ALPLAinject, the company’s injection moulding division, added: “This expansion sends a clear message to the market — we intend to fully utilize our strengths as a system provider and deliver innovative, end-to-end packaging solutions, from design to finished product.”
The transaction was finalized on 1 November 2025, following legal and regulatory approvals. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
