The Directorate for Construction Land and Construction of Belgrade announced the decision to award a contract under which another 40 thousand euros will be paid to the Strabag company for additional works on the construction of the Republic Square, writes Nova Ekonomija.
The job was assigned to Strabag with the subcontract Invest company, in the negotiation process, and relates to the rehabilitation and restoration of the candelabra around the monument to Prince Mihail Obrenovic.
The procedure was initiated on January 3rd as a separate public procurement, not within the framework of the previous procurement for works on the arrangement of the Republic Square.
On the same day, Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic said the city would negotiate with the Strabag about the cost of repairing a candelabra worth 40 thousand euros, Nova Ekonomija reminded.
The deadline for finalizing these negotiations was postponed to 22nd January, and the contract award decision was published on the public procurement portal on 10th February.
The original contract for the entire works on Republic Square was worth 6.2 million euros, but this price was increased by the contract changes from September 3rd to 7 million euros.
Deputy Mayor Vesic said, however, that the company had completed works for a total of 6.2 million euros, including works on the monument to Prince Mihail.
The contract for works on Republic Square was extended on October 23rd last year to January 23rd, although the works were completed, and in the explanation the Directorate stated procedural reasons.
