Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and IMF officials met in Belgrade and agreed “on most key issues,” the Serbian government said in a statement.

The members of the two delegations held constructive discussions on a new IMF deal, it added.

“After the seven-day discussions with Serbian government officials, the IMF officials said that they are satisfied with the achieved level of cooperation with Serbian government institutions, reiterating that the restructuring of public companies is one of the key reforms that Serbia must implement to obtain a new deal with the IMF,” the statement said.

“The goal of the Serbian government and the IMF is economic progress and better life for the Serbian citizens,” Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić said on Tuesday at the end of the meeting, expressing hope that the new IMF deal will be signed as Serbia is implementing structural reforms, whereby it has demonstrated that it is honoring the agreements reached in previous meetings with IMF officials.

Vučić met with IMF Resident Representative for Serbia Daehaeng Kim, Deputy Director at the IMF European Department Aasim Husain and the head of the IMF Mission to Serbia Zuzana Murgasova.

The meeting was also attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Kori Udovički, who is also minister of state administration and local self-government, Finance Minister Dušan Vujović, Minister of Economy Željko Sertić, Minister of Labor, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antić and Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljević-Bošković.
