In October, Air Serbia transported more than 250,000 passengers in regular and charter traffic, which is almost twice as many as in the same month last year.
During the month, Air Serbia made 2,815 flights and thus came close to the result from the record year 2019, when 2,907 flights were made in the same month.
After two difficult pandemic years, the recovery of air traffic throughout the world began this year. The results of “Nikola Tesla” airport, the parent airport of Air Serbia, also showed a solid recovery, which is mainly contributed by the expansion of the airport’s capacity and Serbia’s liberal visa policy in the midst of the pandemic and sanctions against Russia.
On charter flights, Air Serbia also recorded an increase in the number of passengers, by 97.6 percent compared to October 2019.
Since the beginning of the year, the Serbian national airline has transported more than 2,300,000 passengers through the “Nikola Tesla” Airport, as well as the airports in Niš and Kraljevo.
“In our daily work, we strive to provide passengers with a service that will always put us first when choosing the airline they will fly with. The results we are achieving in 2022 show that passengers like to fly with us”, said Boško Rupić , Director commercials and strategies of Air Serbia. “In the first ten months, we transported over two million passengers, which is almost a million passengers more compared to the same period last year. We will use the upcoming winter season to strengthen the fleet and launch flights to new destinations, providing our passengers with even greater comfort and a better offer”, he added.
Air Serbia this month also announced that it is finally resuming direct flights to China , just a day before Bloomberg reported that Chinese authorities are seriously considering phasing out airline sanctions as part of a zero-tolerance policy for the Covid-19 virus. , the airline also announced an increase in the number of flights to Turkey.
