Flights between Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Following the introduction of direct routes to New York and Chicago, Toronto becomes Air Serbia’s third destination in North America.

Air Serbia’s CEO, Jiří Marek, recalled that the airline’s predecessor, JAT, last operated flights to Toronto in May 1992.

“This strategic step marks the beginning of a new chapter in our company’s history and continues Serbia’s economic, business, and cultural development. I would also like to emphasize that Toronto is one of the world’s key cities with a large Serbian diaspora, making the importance of this direct route extend beyond economic and business aspects,” Marek said.

He added that expanding into the North American market fulfills the company’s vision of positioning Belgrade as a transit hub connecting Europe and North America.
