All projects of construction of transport infrastructure in Serbia are running behind schedule, except the construction of the bridge on the Danube in Belgrade, Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic stated on Tuesday.

“There is almost not a single project that is not running behind schedule in Serbia. In some cases this is partly justified but in most cases it is not,” Mihajlovic said in the parliament and added that the Ministry has launched the analysis of the causes for the delay, after which it will establish the ways to step up the project implementation.

The minister noted that the Corridors of Serbia public enterprise has so far used up around EUR 300 million out of the EUR 1.2 billion worth of the loan at their disposal for road construction projects, adding that Roads of Serbia public enterprise has not used EUR 30 million.

Speaking about the damage caused by the recent floods on roads, Mihajlovic noted that the value of the damages totals around EUR 60 million, of which damages done to the state roads accounts for EUR 40 million while the damages on local roads make up for EUR 20 million.

“The agreement envisages that all damages should be repaired by October 1,” Mihajlovic said.
