ALTA Banka a.d. Beograd, one of Serbia’s leading financial institutions, has made a strategic move to expand regionally by entering the North Macedonian market. The bank aims to strengthen its position as a regional leader in providing modern and accessible financial services.
On September 1, 2025, the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia approved ALTA Bank’s acquisition of 100% of shares in Stopanska Banka a.d. Bitola. Following this, ALTA Bank submitted a prospectus and official offer to the Securities Commission of North Macedonia. On September 10, the Commission approved the takeover, opening the way for the start of the share purchase process on September 11, with participation from Komercijalna Banka a.d. Skopje as the authorized broker.
The acquisition represents ALTA Bank’s strategic commitment to building a strong, connected, and technologically advanced banking network across the Balkans. Entering North Macedonia brings innovation and customer-focused banking services, aiming to be efficient, reliable, and accessible.
