The “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” fair will be held at the Belgrade Fair from November 22 to 25, bringing together more than 600 exhibitors who will present wines, spirits, gourmet food, and tourism offers from Serbia and the wider region, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) announced.
“Wine Vision by Open Balkan” is one of Europe’s largest and most significant wine and gastronomy events, created under the Open Balkan initiative, which connects Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania.
Over the course of four days, Belgrade will host professionals, wine enthusiasts, restaurateurs, traders, and everyone who believes that wine and food bring people, cultures, and traditions together.
The event’s program includes a rich selection of educational sessions, workshops, masterclasses, competitions, panel discussions, and exclusive tastings. Numerous renowned wine experts are expected to attend, including holders of the prestigious “Master of Wine” title, such as Rod Smith MW, President of the Institute of Masters of Wine—the world’s most influential organization of wine professionals.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how to taste wine like a Master of Wine, explore Serbia’s wine regions, discover its rich rakija (fruit brandy) heritage, and attend lectures on indigenous Balkan grape varieties and some of the world’s finest wines.
This year’s fair will also host several hundred wine merchants, importers, and distributors from around the globe.
“For professional visitors and exhibitors, a dedicated B2B platform is available for scheduling meetings, enabling direct contact and business cooperation in a comfortable, purpose-designed setting,” the Chamber’s statement reads.
It recalls that last year’s event featured several thousand successful B2B meetings, making “Wine Vision” a key networking hub for the regional wine industry.
The fair will culminate with the announcement of the winner of the major regional competition, the “Open Balkan Wine Trophy,” where wines from Serbia, North Macedonia, and Albania will compete for the title of the best in the region, judged by an international panel that includes five Masters of Wine.
In addition, the results of the “Rakija Trophy” competition will be presented, showcasing the best rakija producers from across the Balkans.
In the culinary section of the fair, “Food Vision,” visitors can look forward to culinary shows, chef competitions, food and wine pairings, masterclasses, and other gastronomic attractions.
