Belgrade’s Expo 2027 set to host over 130 countries with new infrastructure and housing developments

Serbia’s Finance Minister announced that 118 countries have confirmed participation in Expo 2027 in Belgrade, with expectations to surpass 130 countries, aiming to become the most successful specialized expo to date.

The “Expo 2027 Playground,” a 2,300 square meter interactive space at the Belgrade Fair, opened to the public as a hub for citizens, experts, artists, partners, and international delegations. It will be open Monday to Saturday, 1 PM to 8 PM, showcasing past work and future plans for the Expo.

Additionally, plans include building a new town in Surčin with 1,500 apartments for expo participants, which will later be available to Serbian citizens. New exhibition facilities and a National Stadium are also under construction, along with upgraded infrastructure, positioning the area as a new growth center for Belgrade and Serbia. All facilities will be ready by December 1, 2026.
