The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that he expects the growth of the GDP of Serbia to be around zero by the end of the year.
He said at the press conference that it will be the best result not only in Europe, because we should keep in mind that many countries will have a growth of minus 10 and minus 12, and added that it will give us a big boost for the next years.
According to him, a flash estimate of GDP growth for the second quarter, which will be in single digits, is expected on Monday. He reminded that the estimate was that it would be minus 9.9, but he also added that he hoped that there might be a better result.
Vucic stated that the industry increased by 2.6 in June compared to June 2019.
“It is a real little miracle, I congratulate the citizens on the almost incredible result,” he stated.
He said that the number of hospitalized people is decreasing and that the numbers are much better when it comes to patients with coronavirus. “It will be better today also,” he said, adding that he expects us to successfully fight the coronavirus for the second time soon, BizLife reports.
