Chinese tourists are returning to the Serbian tourist market

From April to June of this year, the arrival of the first thousand Chinese tourists to Serbia, as part of Balkan tours, was announced today by the HORES Association of Hoteliers and Restaurateurs.

As stated, the two largest Chinese tour operators, Kaiša Group and Utour Group Co., Ltd., at a meeting with representatives of HORES, announced the arrival of Chinese tourists in significantly greater numbers compared to 2019, which was a record year for Serbian tourism before global pandemics. HORES introduced them to the business environment of Serbia in the post-covid period.

As a reminder, in 2019, more than 150,000 Chinese tourists were registered in Serbia, who were among the top three countries in terms of the number of foreign tourist arrivals. Chinese partners expect satisfaction with hospitality, hotels, restaurants and tourist facilities to be the same as before the pandemic. HORES states that the goal of the meeting was to establish a partnership with those two Chinese tour operators.

The Chinese delegation consisted of Ren Jun, president of Kaiša Group and Feng Bin, president of the Board of Directors of Utour Group Co., Ltd, who informed the hosts about serious plans for tourism exchange between Serbia and China in the coming years, as and that they are interested in a partnership with HORES, as the largest professional organization of the hospitality industry in the country.

Also, they expect HORES to suggest hotels and restaurants where Chinese tourists would stay, with special attention to certified facilities “Clean and Safe” (Clean&Safe), because health and hygiene measures are one of the prerequisites for the safe stay of their tourists.

The President of the HORES Board of Directors, Aleksandar Vasilijević, stated that HORES will coordinate with all interested hotels and restaurants in order to justify the expectations of Chinese tourists, as well as that the satisfaction surveys of Chinese guests, which HORES carried out in 2017 and 2018, will continue and in 2019, in order to get to know the needs, interests and habits of Chinese tourists even more closely, with the aim of offering better quality hotels and restaurants.

The director of HORES, Dr. Georgi Genov, welcomed this initiative, and stated that hotels and restaurants in Serbia are ready to accept Chinese guests, and that it was agreed with the Chinese partners that remarks on the quality of services in hotels will be submitted to HORES and restaurants, with the aim of eliminating defects and improving quality.

The meeting was attended by the representative of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, adviser for culture Hu Hong (Xu Hong), who emphasized the successful cooperation between Serbia and China in all fields, including in the tourism sector, as well as the marketing manager of the Tourist Organization of Serbia, Aneta Uskoković, it is added. in the announcement, reports Tanjug.
