Chinese Zijin will use the capacities of the Port of Bar for transshipment of copper in Serbia

The company Zijin from Bor will use the capacities of the Port of Bar for transshipment of cargo in the coming years, it was agreed at the meeting in Bar. As it was announced from the company Luka Bar, the transshipment of copper concentrate in the amount of 350-400,000 tons has been announced this year, with a significant increase to the level of 700,000 tons in 2022 and 2023.
– The agreed cooperation on transshipment of copper concentrate, with the possibility of expanding further cooperation, transshipment and other types of cargo for the needs of the company Zijin, represents full valorization of the logistics route through the Port of Bar – it is stated in the announcement.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Zijin Group, Srbijacargo, Trans cargo logistic, Montecargo and Luka Bar, as well as Zoran Radunovic, State Secretary for Transport and Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Capital Investments.
In the past period, the engagement of the relevant ministry was of great importance for the formation of the business environment necessary for the conclusion of such strategically important deals.
– All participants in the meeting agree that this is a serious business project, whose expected effects are many times positive for the entire economy of both the state of Montenegro and the state of Serbia – the statement concludes, eKapija reports.
