As part of preparations for Expo 2027, Serbia has started building a railway linking Zemun Polje, Nikola Tesla Airport and the National Stadium.

The total length of the track will be 18.3 kilometers. It will be a double-track, electrified railway designed for passenger service with speeds of up to 120 km/h.

The route will have four new stations — Singidunum, Airport, Surčin, and National Stadium — and will connect the center of Belgrade (Prokop) with the National Stadium in about 30 minutes.

Minister of Finance Siniša Mali stated that the project is progressing according to schedule and is expected to be finished by the end of 2026. The railway will improve passenger mobility and provide efficient transport for the 3–4 million visitors expected during Expo 2027.
