Minister of Finance Siniša Mali announced that the construction of the EXPO complex in Surčin is advancing according to schedule, with any issues promptly addressed.
“At the start of this week, I visited the construction site to review progress on the EXPO complex, the National Football Stadium, 1,500 new apartments, and the essential infrastructure including water, gas, sewage, heating, electricity, and telecommunications,” Mali shared on Instagram.
This was Mali’s first visit to the EXPO construction site, following his trip last week to the EXPO 2025 International Exhibition in Osaka, Japan, where he observed firsthand the scale and operation of the world’s largest event.
“I had the chance to explore the latest technologies and innovations from around the globe, meet with Japanese investors, and witness how Japan became the center of global attention this year,” he said.
Mali expressed pride that Serbia will host the world’s spotlight in 2027, noting that 116 countries and international organizations have already confirmed their participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
“Through dedicated work, effort, and commitment, we continue preparing for the EXPO, which represents our greatest development opportunity and a catalyst for economic growth and improved quality of life for Serbian citizens,” Mali concluded.
