Coordination body in charge of Serbia’s EU accession constituted

The Serbian government adopted a decision to constitute a coordination body for Serbia’s EU accession which would revise all issues and coordinate the work of state administration bodies relevant to the country’s EU accession, the Official Gazette released.

The coordination body would comprise Serbian Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic, Deputy Prime Minister Verica Kalanovic, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric, Justice Minister Snezana Malovic, Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic, Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Mining Oliver Dulic and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Milutin Mrkonjic.

Director of the government European Integration Office Milica Delevic and State Secretary for Finance Dusan Nikezic will also take part in the work of the coordination body. The coordination body would be headed by Prime Minister Cvetkovic, while Deputy PM Djelic or another member of the body would function as Cvetkovic’s deputy if the president believes that a certain topic calls for it.

Other members of the government can attend the meetings of the coordination body and take part in its work if the topics being discussed at a given sitting fall under their area of expertise. The coordination body will submit the report on its activities to the government every 90 days.
