Dacic, Japanese ambassador discuss economic cooperation

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic received a farewell visit from Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Masafumi Kuroki on Friday and used the occasion to point out that Serbia was interested in further strengthening economic cooperation and attracting Japanese investment.

Minister Dacic expressed particular satisfaction about political dialogue and cooperation between Serbia and Japan having advanced considerably during Kuroki’s term as ambassador.

He also highlighted Serbia’s interest in strengthening economic and other forms of cooperation, with special emphasis on measures to increase Japanese investments, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a release.

Dacic reiterated Serbia’s gratitude for the high level of solidarity the people of Japan had shown following the disastrous floods that had hit Serbia the year before.

Dacic and Kuroki agreed that relations between the two countries were constantly improving and confirmed Serbia’s and Japan’s willingness to continue strengthening mutual dialogue, exchanging visits at all levels and creating connections between the two economies, the release said.
