Serbia’s defence industry will become one of the biggest in Europe and the world by 2020, and the results achieved by our existing factories over the past three years substantiate this claim, says Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic.
The plan is to invest a total of EUR 103 million in all defence industry factories, as well as to significantly expand the list of factories at the end of 2015, Gasic said.
Defence industries that are this organised and operate at such technological level no longer exist around us – individual countries that used to have respectable capacities for this are either disoriented in the sense that they do not have complex products such as those that Serbia has or have not managed to rise from privatisation processes to the level where Serbia is, Gasic said.
