Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said today that everything is ready to begin construction of the Moravian corridor as soon as the commercial contract with “Behtel-Enka” is signed, but that negotiations are difficult because the construction costs € 800 million, the Ministry announced.
“The Government of Serbia, the Ministry, the” Corridors of Serbia “as an investor and other institutions are negotiating the signing of a commercial agreement with “Bechtel” because 800 million euros is a huge sum and is seeking detailed negotiations and it is not surprising that the negotiations are difficult,” Mihajlovic told reporters in Trstenik, where she visited a pedestrian and pipeline bridge that solved the problem of water supply for 10,000 people.
She added that she did not want to bid on whether the start of the works would be in 7, 10 or 15 days, but that it was important that everything is ready for beginning of construction nearby Krusevac as soon as the contract is signed.
“Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 are important for connecting Serbia with the region, and the Moravian Corridor is important for connecting Serbia from the inside, its citizens and the economy, because it will connect Cacak, Kraljevo, Vrnjacka Banja, Trstenik, Krusevac,” she said.
She also said that the construction of this highway should take about two and a half years.
