The consumer protection association “Efektiva” has called for a renewed boycott of the Maxi retail chain, due to high prices. The boycott is planned to run throughout April. This announcement was shared on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

“The fight for lower food prices is underway. Do not enter, do not buy,” said Efektiva in their post. According to the association, if Maxi lowers its prices, other retail chains will be forced to follow suit.

“Inform your housemates, neighbors, and relatives! Do not go to Maxi,” they emphasized.

This latest boycott follows a series of similar actions organized by Efektiva since January. Initially, there was a one-day boycott, followed by a five-day boycott of the five largest retail chains: Deleze (which owns Maxi and Shop&Go), Mercator (which operates Roda and Idea), DIS, Univerexport, and Lidl.

Following these actions, Efektiva led week-long boycotts against individual chains, with the first boycott targeting Maxi.
