First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Borge Brende said today that external trade and cooperation between the two countries in other fields should be promoted.

Dacic and Brende discussed Serbia’s presidency over the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) next year, relations in the region, Serbia’s European integration, normalisation of relations with the interim government institutions in Pristina, as well as the situation in Ukraine.

The First Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that the foreign trade exchange between the two countries is relatively low and should be increased.

He also said that cooperation in other fields, such as the economy, defence and police cooperation, should intensify.

He expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Norway on the long-term assistance provided to our country, as well as the assistance provided during the recent devastating floods.

Also, Dacic reiterated that EU membership remains Serbia’s commitment.

Brende pointed out that Norway supports Serbia’s European path, which, as he said, will improve the economic growth of the country and make positive changes.
