European Chamber has published a comprehensive report on the outlook for Serbian economy for 2023

European Chamber (EU Cham) has published a comprehensive report on the outlook for European, Balkan and Serbian economies for 2023.

According to the report, the European Union’s GDP growth is projected at 2.6% in 2022 and 2.0% for the following year. In 2023, smaller economies will generally do better than others, while the four biggest economies will all show a growth below 1%.

As for Serbia, the EU Cham projects a 3.2% GDP growth, in terms of the unemployment rate, the unemployment rate in the European Union is anticipated to drop to 6.2% in 2022, before dipping slightly to 6.1% in 2023 while Kosovo retains the highest ordinary unemployment. As for Serbia, unemployment in 2023 is projected at 9.9%, a fall from 10.2% in 2022.

The report also forecasts that inflation in Serbia will fall from 10.2% in 2022 to 6.3% in 2023.  The unemployment in Euro-area will not grow significantly in 2023 and will stand at 7% (6.9% in 2022).
