The chief architect of Expo 2027 Belgrade, Danilo Dangubić, announced that over 2,500 architects and engineers are currently involved in the project at all stages, from design and management to implementation and construction, aiming to ensure that all structures have lasting use and become a permanent legacy of the first international expo in the Western Balkans.

German architectural firms are supporting the team on structural and sustainability plans, while landscape architecture expertise comes from several companies in Zurich with experience from previous international expos. Dangubić emphasized that the Expo has always aimed to leave a lasting legacy for the host city and country, and Expo 2027 will fully achieve this.

After the Expo concludes on August 15, 2027, the international participant area will be transformed into the new Belgrade Fair, capable of hosting a variety of events, including ATP Masters 1000 tennis tournaments, showcasing multiple courts, stands, and facilities.

Expo 2027 will also set new standards in school construction across Serbia. Pavilions used for best practices and corporate exhibits will be dismantled, and the wooden structures will be repurposed to build six new schools, kindergartens, and 22 gymnasiums. These schools will feature five-meter-high ceilings, classrooms with outdoor access, and improved air quality.

The Expo will also benefit Serbian companies producing innovative wooden structures by providing strong references for future projects and boosting the domestic wood industry.

Expo 2027 Belgrade will take place from May 15 to August 15, 2027, under the theme “Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All.” Over 120 countries, international organizations, and companies will participate, with more than four million visitors expected during the 93-day event.
