Export of agricultural products on constant rise

Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said today that in the first three months of this year the export of agricultural products has increased by 7% compared to the same period last year, and that the trend of growth of surplus in this area continues.

Bogosavljevic-Boskovic said at a press conference held at the Novi Sad Fair, where the results of the Ministry in the period between two fairs of agriculture were presented, that in the first three months of this year the import of agricultural products decreased by 11% and the surplus in the field of agriculture is by 28.7% higher than in the same period last year.

She stated that in the first three months of this year, agricultural products worth €625 million were exported, which is an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2015, adding that she believes that this trend of growth in exports and surplus will continue in the future.

According to her, the export of agricultural and food products from the Republic of Serbia reached its peak last year and amounted to over €2 billion, or more precisely, between €2.5 billion and €2.6 billion.

The surplus achieved in 2015 is also the highest so far, and it grew by 12.4% in relation to 2014.
