The exports of the ICT sector in 2019 was around twice as large as in 2016, when the Council for Innovation Enterprise and Informational Technologies was founded, and the final results for 2019 are expected to exceed EUR 1.4 billion, it was said at the recent session of this body, presided over by Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.
Presenting the report on the activities realized in 2019 and the plans for 2020, the Council concluded that the surplus in the exchange of ICT services in 2019 was the largest one in any sector, pertaining to either goods or services, in Serbia and that it contributes around 0.6% to the growth of the GDP, which is 15% of the total growth.
The prime minister pointed out that, in the preceding two years, the government’s priority was to promote incentives and create conditions for a good business environment and the development of startup enterprises.
She said that the adopted decree defining the criteria for approving temporary residence in Serbia for foreign founders of innovative startups and investors would have a great impact on the further improvement of the business environment and development of this sector.
This way, as she explained, Serbia continues to implement incentives for foreign investors and increase the attractiveness of its business environment on an international scale.
