Miloš Turinski from Infostud presented the results of the fourth edition of the survey “What Drives Employees” to Euronews Serbia, highlighting employees’ and managers’ perceptions of the workplace and workforce needs.

This year’s data show that flexibility has become the top priority for employees, with remote work increasingly seen as a standard expectation rather than a privilege. Turinski emphasized that today’s employees primarily seek flexibility and a balance between their personal and professional lives, which directly impacts their productivity and loyalty to employers.

“Flexible working hours and the option to work from home are at the top of employees’ expectations. It is crucial for employers to trust their employees and allow them to manage their own time, whether through hybrid work models, shorter workweeks, or other forms of flexibility,” Turinski explained. He added that flexibility does not necessarily mean reducing the workweek but adapting work arrangements to meet employees’ needs while maintaining quality and aligning with the company’s capabilities.

The survey also reveals that nearly 95 percent of employees experience some form of stress or fatigue at work, while employers often fail to address mental health adequately. Turinski pointed out that small, practical measures—such as psychological support, financial and educational guidance, or providing days off for parents—are essential for employee satisfaction.

“Employees with a healthy and balanced personal life come to work motivated and productive. Today’s labor market is challenging, and flexibility along with attention to employees is key to retaining talent and building loyalty,” Turinski concluded.
