Fortis Energy to install 20 wind turbines in Serbia as part of 144 MW Juhor wind farm project

Turkish company Fortis Energy will install 20 wind turbines in the cities of Jagodina and Rekovac as part of the Juhor wind farm project, which has a total capacity of 144 MW.

Each of the 20 planned wind turbines will have a capacity of about 7.2 MW.

The company has announced that the project is currently in the detailed regulation planning phase.

Fortis Energy adds that the Juhor wind farm will contribute to energy security and support the green transition in Southeast Europe.

The wind farm is expected to produce over 425 million kWh of electricity annually, supplying approximately 200,000 households with renewable energy. This project will also reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 300 million kg per year, compared to electricity generation from fossil fuels, according to the Turkish company.

It is worth noting that Fortis Energy received preliminary permits this summer to connect three wind farms to the grid in Serbia, with a total capacity of 509.4 MW. The projects, including VE Juhor, are valued at 550 million euros, with the remaining two projects being the Vranje wind farm (171 MW) and the Gornjak wind farm (194.4 MW).
