German company HAIX Group is considering expanding its production operations in Vranje and creating a significant number of new jobs. Serbian Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović met with company representatives to discuss further expansion of manufacturing in Serbia and increasing employment, she announced on Instagram.
HAIX specializes in producing footwear for the military, police, firefighters, and other uniformed services. The company’s entry into Serbia was first widely reported in 2022.
In 2023, according to media reports, the Serbian government approved €2.6 million in incentives for HAIX’s footwear production facility in Vranje, which was already operating at the time. The plan outlined that at least 651 new permanent employees would be hired by the end of 2025, and the company would invest at least €2.8 million during that period.
