A total of 160 million dinars from the budget reserve has been allocated to the General Secretariat of the Government for the organization of an event related to the EXPO 2027 exhibition. This funding will support the International Planning Meeting, which Serbia will host as the organizer of the upcoming EXPO Belgrade 2027.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in Belgrade on June 10 and 11, 2025, with the decision to use the budget reserve published in the Official Gazette.

Dušan Borovčanin, the director of EXPO 2027, previously announced that the meeting will occur during the 175th Assembly of the International Bureau of Exhibitions (BIE).

To further ensure the successful organization of the event, the government has established an organizing committee, with its details published in the Official Gazette. The committee will be led by Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, with Luka Tomić, head of the Minister of Finance’s cabinet, serving as deputy president. The board also consists of 12 members and deputy members, who will not receive compensation for their roles.

The General Secretariat of the Government will provide professional and administrative-technical support for the committee’s work. Additionally, recent amendments to the Regulation on the General Secretariat of the Government now designate the secretariat to handle organizational, technical, and administrative tasks for events of national interest when no other state body or government service is assigned to do so.
