Government lifts price caps on basic food staples amid market stabilization

The Government of Serbia has repealed the regulation limiting the prices of basic food staples, citing that the grain and flour markets have now stabilized.

Additionally, an amended regulation on the mandatory production and sale of bread made from “T-500” flour has been adopted.

The new regulation adjusts the price of this essential food item due to increased production costs, primarily driven by higher energy prices, the Government stated.
