Government proposes transition of 12 public enterprises, including Pošta Srbije and Stara Planina, to limited liability companies

The public enterprises “Pošta Srbije” and the “Stara planina” mountain tourism development company will transition to limited liability company (doo) status. This change is part of a broader government proposal to alter the legal status of 12 public enterprises in Serbia.

Other enterprises included in the list are the Public Enterprise for Shelters from Belgrade, JP Nuclear Facilities of Serbia from Vinča, Tara National Park, Srbijashume, Srbijavode, Roads of Serbia, the Official Gazette, Ski Resorts of Serbia, National Park Fruška Gora, and National Park Đerdap.

Pošta Srbije is the largest employer among Serbian public companies, with 14,032 employees. In 2024, it generated business revenues of €293.13 million and a profit of €17.97 million, according to N1.

The Public Enterprise for the Development of Mountain Tourism “Stara planina” employs 13 people and had a business income of €842,738 in 2024. Its registered capital, which will be converted into the doo’s capital, amounts to 3.13 billion dinars.
