Gov’t forms working group for chemical companies

The government of Serbia has formed a working group tasked with putting forward a proposal for a new status of the three largest companies in the chemical sector in Serbia, which employ around 3,000 people, the government’s media office said in a release on Monday.

The working group will propose basic guidelines for a new status of ‘Metanolsko Sircetni Kompleks Kikinda’, ‘Azotara Pancevo’ and ‘HIP Petrohemija Pancevo’, the release specifies.

Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic was appointed head of the working group.

The performance of companies in the chemical sector is of strategic importance for the country’s economy, the statement reads.
