The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has started its visit to Serbia, with the first meeting scheduled at the National Bank of Serbia.
On April 26, the IMF announced the appointment of Anet Kjobe as the new head of the IMF mission for Serbia. Lev Ratnovski, the IMF resident representative in Serbia, stated that “Ms. Kjobe previously served as acting head of the IMF mission and resident representative for Russia, head of the IMF mission for North Macedonia, and assistant director of the IMF’s European Department.”
Kjobe has worked extensively with both developing and advanced economies, including Poland, Russia, Lebanon, and Jordan, as well as on IMF lending policies. She is a Ugandan national with a PhD and holds degrees in economics and finance from McGill University in Canada and George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
