In November, Higher Wages in the Factory “Fiat” in Kragujevac

General Manager of the factory “Fiat Automobiles Serbia” (FAS) Giovanni De Filippis said he was pleased that they managed to raise production in Kragujevac to 30,000 vehicles, announced that at the end of the month he will review the salaries, and is planning also the prizes for the achievements

– When we took over the “Zastava” we have raised salaries, but now we want to re-raise them all in order to correct the inherited inequalities – Filippis said.

Filippis presented that when it comes to imports, they do not get any help, but for all imported vehicles have the same treatment as other importers.

Director General of FAS said that they exported 7,000 to 8,000 cars last month, mainly to North Africa, Eastern Europe and the CEFTA countries and that he expects that export from the next year will exceed 95%.

Noting that the overall market last year was at a very low level, and that the situation is not stable, Filippis said the FAS in the automotive market of Serbia is the leader, because he achieved 25 to 30 of the total units sold this year.

Filippis said that “Fiat” in Serbia so far invested 100 million USD and total investment will be 940 million euros.

He added that, for now, FAS employs only 1,000 workers, but according to obligations that they agreed on, will be followed by employment of 1,400 people.

Talking about future plans, Filippis said that they are bound to complete the reconstruction of factory and the installation of new machinery to produce vehicles that would primarily go to export.
