The economy will face a difficult situation this year as well, and it will need help, the director of the Union of Employers of Serbia (UPS), Srdjan Drobnjakovic, told eKapija. He adds that although some reliefs have been adopted, such as the postponement of the payment of taxes and contributions, new levies are coming due.
– The situation will be difficult, small businessmen will suffer the most, those who have up to 10 employees, family companies, entrepreneurs… They will not be able to work regardless of the fact that the tax payment is divided into 24 installments, because new levies are coming, it is getting more expensive electricity, environmental taxes are now appearing all at once – states Drobnjakovic.
He adds that he is not a pessimist, but also that the state must react so that there would be no mass layoffs.
– Despite everything, I am not a pessimist and I believe that the state must react and prevent dismissals, because all those who lose their jobs will go to the employment bureau and thus be a burden to the state – Drobranjkovic believes.
In a conversation for our portal, he reiterated the initiative he will present at the session of the UPS Presidency that the state help small and medium enterprises with three minimum wages for employees and a new postponement of taxes and contributions for six months.
He points out that the proposal is to postpone the advance payment of profit tax, as well as that the Union has launched an initiative to equate hostels and ethno houses with hotels when granting state aid to the economy.
As a possible help to caterers, our interlocutor also states the initiative to reduce the lease of state-owned vessels, which are leased by caterers, eKapija reports.
