Last year, 2.23 million passenger cars were registered in Serbia, which is 3.3 percent more than in 2020

10,392 buses were registered, five percent more than the year before, as well as 268,586 trucks, or 4.9 percent more than in 2020.

As stated, the number of registered trailers increased by 3.8 percent, the number of registered work vehicles increased by 3.7 percent, and the number of motorcycles by 8.4 percent, while the only decrease was recorded in mopeds, which was 1, 2 percent less registered than a year earlier.

The most represented brands of foreign passenger cars were: Volkswagen, Opel, Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Ford, Audi and Citroen, according to the SSO.

Last year, 181,024 cars were registered for the first time, which is an increase of 7.9 percent compared to 2020, as well as 883 buses, 39.1 percent more than the year before.

10.9 percent more trucks were registered, as well as trailers for eight percent and work vehicles for 7.7 percent more than in 2020.

According to statistics, the most common were trucks up to 999 kilograms, and the largest number of these vehicles used diesel as fuel.

More recent passenger cars are dominated by vehicles with engine sizes up to 1,399 cubic centimeters, the SSO announced, Biznis reports.
