The company Mostogradnja ING, fully owned by Millennium Team, successfully acquired the once-prominent Yugoslav construction company Mostogradnja at an auction, purchasing it for 1.18 billion dinars (approximately 10 million euros). Mostogradnja ING was the sole participant in the auction, according to Biznis.rs.
If the buyer completes the necessary procedures following the auction, they will become the owner of Mostogradnja’s administrative building located in the center of Belgrade, on Vlajkovićeva Street. The purchase also includes an industrial complex in Batajnica, as well as operating lots located along the Sava embankment and in Ostružnica.
Mostogradnja’s assets, as a legal entity, also include several illegal shacks and temporary buildings used as housing in Agostina Neta Street in New Belgrade, Tošina Bunar in Zemun, Vilani Voda, and near the “Mostar” interchange, all of which were part of the auction process. Before Mostogradnja filed for bankruptcy in 2021, Mostogradnja ING had already signed an agreement to lease part of the company’s property and took over around 200 workers from the company in bankruptcy, according to Nova.rs.
Ahead of the auction, the Tax Administration recommended that certain property of Mostogradnja, designated as cultural property, be sold separately in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Cultural Property. Notably, the administrative building in Vlajkovićeva Street is marked as a “protected area of cultural property – a modern garage in Belgrade,” which once housed the Automobile Museum.
The Belgrade Commercial Court rejected an objection concerning the sale, stating that if the state does not exercise its right of pre-emption, the buyer will be obligated to adhere to the relevant cultural property protection regulations.
