A new air route from Morava Airport in Lađevci to Tivat has started, with flights operating twice weekly. Director of Airports of Serbia, Mihailo Zdravković, announced that during the summer season, flights will also run to Thessaloniki twice a week. Passenger traffic at Morava Airport increased by 30% in April and May compared to the same period last year.
Zdravković highlighted ongoing projects including the expansion of the aircraft parking area, construction of a fire station, and enlargement of the passenger parking lot. Work is also underway on a spatial plan for a cargo and logistics center, although progress was delayed due to highway construction nearby. Cooperation with the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure aims to complete this plan to enable further airport development.
One major challenge remains the lack of an aviation fuel supplier, which limits growth. However, the airport’s strategic importance has increased with the opening of the nearby Adran interchange, attracting more travelers who previously used Niš or Belgrade airports.
Zdravković also mentioned plans to expand the national airline’s fleet with ATR aircraft operating from Morava, potentially opening new routes to destinations such as Debrecen, Northern Italy, and Germany.
Preparations for the winter 2025 and summer 2026 flight schedules are underway, with new routes expected primarily in the summer season.
Morava Airport Director Dragan Bugarinović noted strong demand for flights to Tivat and Thessaloniki, with growing interest in Istanbul compared to last year. He advised passengers to purchase tickets via Air Serbia’s website for the best prices and security.
Ticket prices start at around 7,500 dinars one way, increasing closer to the flight date. A key advantage of Morava Airport is free parking, allowing travelers to leave their cars without any fees during their trip. The airport also offers faster procedures, shorter wait times, and quicker check-ins due to its smaller size.
