More than 50,000 loans are currently in moratorium. As they say for the N1 portal in the National Bank of Serbia, the largest part of the loan whose repayment has been paused, as much as 87 percent, refers to citizens, mostly on cash loans.
“According to the latest available data obtained from banks on June 30, 2021, over 50,000 requests were approved to clients, with a total value of 941.5 million euros. Having in mind that the specific measure is intended primarily for debtors affected by the economic consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic, the number of debtors to whom this measure was approved at their request is over 83 percent,” the NBS points out.
Unlike the first two moratoriums implemented last year, which were automatically granted to all debtors, this time they applied for it.
Namely, during 2020, debtors who did not want a moratorium reported to their bank, and this year, until the end of April, debtors who did want to, ie. who sought a break in repayment, Bonitet reports.
