A new 54.5-kilometer fast traffic route connecting Šabac and Loznica was opened, providing a faster link between the Mačva and Podrinje regions. The new road will reduce travel time from Šabac to Loznica to just 30 minutes, and from Belgrade to Loznica to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This route is an extension of the Ruma-Šabac motorway, which opened last year with the new bridge over the Sava River. The opening ceremony took place yesterday in Lešnica, with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević highlighting that the new road establishes the shortest connection between Belgrade and Novi Sad to the Podrinje region and to Republic of Srpska.

Vučević also noted that by the end of this year and early next year, Serbia will have completed around 100 kilometers of new highways and fast roads.
