The Ministry of Mining and Energy has announced a new public call for funding projects aimed at improving energy efficiency in public buildings. Local governments are invited to apply, with total funds allocated for this call amounting to 571.3 million dinars.
Minister Dubravka Đedović Handanović emphasized that the call is open until August 8 and encouraged municipalities to submit projects that promote energy savings while enhancing comfort for citizens and benefiting the environment.
The program targets public buildings such as schools, kindergartens, health centers, cultural centers, municipal buildings, and sports halls—major energy consumers in local communities. Funded measures include window and door replacements, improved insulation, boiler replacement, installation of heat pumps, solar panels, solar water collectors, modernization of public lighting, and more.
The Ministry will cover 70% of individual project costs, up to 30 million dinars, while local governments contribute 30%. For the least developed municipalities, the state will finance 100% of approved projects to ensure equal participation.
Since 2014, 240 public buildings have been energy renovated, reducing CO2 emissions by about 22,000 tons annually, with an investment of approximately 5.83 billion dinars.
