Oil industry of Serbia (NIS) assured the public this evening that its operations remain unaffected by the recently imposed American sanctions. The company confirmed that the supply to its network of gas stations continues without disruption, and the Pančevo Oil Refinery is operating normally, ensuring the delivery of all necessary oil derivatives to the market.
In a statement to the Beta agency, NIS emphasized that it would carefully review the details of the sanctions and analyze their potential impact on its operations. The company remains committed to maintaining stability in Serbia’s domestic oil derivatives market.
These sanctions, introduced by the U.S. Treasury, are part of a broader package of measures targeting Russian interests due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Notably, Russian companies Gazprom and Gazpromneft hold a 56 percent stake in NIS.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić remarked that these are the most severe sanctions ever imposed on a Serbian company and stressed that the Serbian government must completely sever Russian interests in NIS within the next 45 days to comply with the new sanctions.
