NIS responds to US sanctions announcement: Business operations unaffected for now

Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) is closely monitoring the current situation and analyzing all potential scenarios and consequences for its operations. As of now, there are no legal restrictions affecting the company’s activities or its partners, according to a statement from NIS in response to the US announcement of impending sanctions due to Russian ownership.

NIS emphasized that its operations are currently proceeding without disruption. The company remains focused on continuing its ongoing investments and maintaining stability in the domestic oil derivatives market.

The company also reassured that the supply chain for its gas stations remains regular, the Pančevo Oil Refinery is operating as usual, and all necessary oil derivatives are being delivered to the market.

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that the US has informed Serbia of its plan to impose comprehensive sanctions on NIS due to its Russian ownership, with the sanctions expected to take effect on January 1st.
