The Prime Ministers of Northern Macedonia and Serbia, Zoran Zaev and Ana Brnabic, agreed today in Ohrid to urgently provide all the conditions for the full functioning of the “One Stop Shop” border control system, which enables faster crossing.
That system of joint control of the border crossing between the two countries (Tabanovce-Presevo), as stated in the announcement of the government in Skopje, has been slowed down due to the circumstances caused by the pandemic of Covid 19.
Zaev and Brnabic talked during the “Prespa Forum for Dialogue” held in Ohrid and agreed that the gathering organized on the occasion of three years since the Greek-Macedonian Agreement from Prespa “celebrates the success of the dialogue and improves the image of the Balkans.”
Serbia and Northern Macedonia, the prime ministers of the two countries pointed out, “nurture extremely close relations between states, peoples and governments” and agreed to speed up preparations for the opening of the Macedonian Cultural Center in Serbia and the Serbian Cultural Center in Northern Macedonia.
“The next extremely important aspect that makes the two countries close is their enormous commitment to advancing regional cooperation with a focus on the economic agenda,” the statement from the meeting between Zaev and Ana Brnabic reads.
The interlocutors assessed yesterday’s introduction of free roaming for the citizens of the countries of the region as extremely important, emphasizing that the next step is to provide this ungenerated possibility of connecting with the EU member states as well, Danas reports.
