Novi Sad is continuing its efforts to foster employment, entrepreneurship and small business development, aiming to create a positive business environment. At a recent session of the City’s Economic Council, plans were revealed for significant investments in the city’s economic future.

For the year 2025, Novi Sad has allocated 209 million dinars for active employment policy measures, as part of its Employment Action Plan. Additionally, 10 million dinars will be dedicated to supporting female entrepreneurship, and 60 million dinars will be invested in enhancing the business conditions for micro and small enterprises and entrepreneurs. In total, these initiatives will represent a 279 million dinar investment in the city’s economic development next year.

Dejan Mandić, the City Council member responsible for Budget, Finance, and Investments, emphasized that Novi Sad continues to prioritize a favorable business climate. The city remains committed to attracting investment, creating jobs, and improving the overall economic situation.

“Our goal is to ensure continued investment activity, allocate more funds for capital projects, and improve the quality of life for all citizens in various sectors,” said Mandić.

Milorad Radojević, the City Council member for the Economy, shared that Novi Sad has significantly invested in employment initiatives since 2012. Over 1.8 billion dinars have been spent on the Employment Action Plan, which has led to the employment of over 5,000 people and the training of nearly 3,000 others. Additionally, the city has supported micro and small businesses, with 360 entities receiving funding for new equipment and fixed assets.

The Economic Council, an advisory body to the mayor, includes representatives from the business community, such as Dragoljub Zbiljić, who chairs the council. During the meeting, members emphasized their collective commitment to driving the city’s economic progress and strengthening the local business climate.

This continued focus on investment and business development aims to further position Novi Sad as a key player in the region’s economic landscape.
